“Sacred Rest” is a women-led spiritual retreat designed through facilitated learning and discussion to discuss the meaning of rest from faith and spiritual perspective. Learn to practice reflective contemplation (tafakkur), the art of praying and journaling, through a learning circle. Realign your heart, practice mindfulness, and awaken the remembrance of Allah with every breath.
Held in the tranquil nature of Ryujinmura, renowned for its ancient hot springs and clear mountain air, with a night sky filled with stars, this immersive journey is for women seeking stillness, realignment, sisterhood, and soul-deep renewal.

Our retreat takes place in 120-year-old and 30-year-old guesthouses, respectively, that have been expertly restored with premium workmanship. Every detail, from the elegant architectural lines to the thoughtfully curated furniture, reflects a blend of historical charm and modern comfort.
Each house features beautifully arranged bedrooms, equipped with complete and aesthetically pleasing amenities, reading corners, a spacious kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a laundry area. This intimate space invites deep rest, connection, and reflection, surrounded by enchanting nature.
Private Onsen
You will have access to the onsen, as Ryujin is renowned for offering the top three hot springs for beauty in Japan. Enjoy bathing under the open sky and witnessing the stars.
Nourished halal, and wholesome meals
We are grateful to partner with the locals to bring halal meats to the mountain village and craft heartful meals with fresh, locally grown, harvested, and produced ingredients.

The retreat offers a structured programme as well as free and easy time. It focuses on realignment and remembrance of the Creator, filled with mindfulness practices in nature, facilitated workshops, daily prayers and reflections under the stars while honouring your inner journey. We value sacred space and aspire to build heartfelt bonds with like-hearted women in a safe, supportive space.
People and Colours
Discover the charm of our guesthouse and its serene natural surroundings on a guided tour. Then, learn the art of traditional furoshiki wrapping from a local artist. Along the way, explore a fresh perspective on the meaning of colours in our everyday lives.
Reciprocity Ring
Experience the joy of giving back as you learn the reciprocity framework in a hands-on, sisterhood dessert-making activity. Together, we’ll prepare sweet treats as a gesture of gratitude for the village community, deepening our connection through shared appreciation and care.
Space for stillness and silence
This retreat will ensure ample space and time for participants to do self-reflection, journaling, personal prayer and meditation, a time for self-gratitude and personal connection with the Creator.

Facilitated workshops/sessions by a professional, seasoned Islamic Educator who is also an experienced facilitator and an Associate Mediator, bringing a decade of experience in spiritual education and community development. Complementing the team is a counsellor-in-training who also serves as the retreat’s coordination lead, providing holistic care and continuity throughout the participant experience.

Private room
We encourage women to share this nourishing space, fostering sisterhood and community. However, if you feel called to a bit more solitude, a private room can be reserved for an additional $40 USD. We encourage you to request early, as space is very limited and bookings fill quickly.
